I noticed that my memories were broken. Stop. Start. Like fragments, or short scenes in a silent movie. I wished long and hard for them to flow.
Lianne was in front of me. She spoke and introduced me to the room. The room spoke:
> Hey, I'm the Anarchive. A system to help you connect to memories. My job is to show you, or help clarify anything you like from the past. Just ask, and I'll see if I can find it.
I thought for a while. I didn't quite know what to say. > OK. I said.
Lianne piped in. "So just come here any time you feel ready, or curious. Don't overdo it. Memories aren't always pleasant. Treat it like mental excesize. Regular excercise builds your strength. Overdoing it, can bust a tendon, or tear a muscle. So take it slow."
We turned to walk out the room.
> Hang on. I said turning round to face where the voice of the room had come from.
> Who are The Followers, I said.
> Anarchive: The Followers are a people from the deep past. They are your ancestors. To be precise, they created you. They are currently in transit. We expect the first shipment in just over a year.
"That's enough for now." said Lianne. We've got some work to do, but feel free to come back here any time you like to finish the conversation?
We walked out the room.
After we had left the room, and walked down the corridor a ways, Lianne turned to me and spoke in a whisper: "You should know, that the Anarchive has been programmed to tell the truth. It cannot lie. So you should be carefull what you ask, and how often you ask it things. The Truth can be, well, as I said before, "unpleasant".
> So you don't tell me the truth? I asked Lianne a little uncertainly.
"No" said Lianne. I care. My interest is to help you, and make sure you get strong, and healthy. The room does not care.
I noticed, that she referred to the Anarchive as The Room when she wanted to warn me, or was being dismissive, and "the Anarchive" when she was being respectful. I felt they were not best friends.
"Let me show you more of Planet Nine", she said.
